The Curragh supplies the strongest British or Irish card today, with the Listed Concorde Stakes and Listed Brigid's Pastures Stakes giving it a clear class edge. The current Racing Post going report describes the straight course as soft, while the fuller API update retains soft to heavy in places. That uncertainty makes proven stamina and an ability to finish through testing ground especially valuable.
The eight races contain 114 active runners after It's Good To Talk came out of the 16:50. The Sporting Life Concorde Stakes card highlights Big Gossey's exceptional Curragh record, but Loughrea's improving profile makes him the NAP. Prices and applicable terms were checked at 08:13 BST.

Curragh 13:20 | Pirate Anne Bonny | 3pt win at 13/8, Bet365
NEXT BEST: Chattering Classes
Pirate Anne Bonny was second in a 21-runner Naas maiden on debut, travelling with the leaders and staying on after the race split into groups. That experience is worth plenty against several newcomers, while the move from six to seven furlongs should suit a filly out of a Galileo mare. The soft ground is a new question, but she did enough on yielding going to suggest it will not blunt her finish.
Chattering Classes is the strongest alternative at 11/2. She was held up on her course-and-distance debut before making sustained late progress into fourth, so the easier ground and stronger stamina test can help. Sweetly and Petticoat Bay are beautifully bred newcomers, though taking short prices about debutants on this surface carries obvious risk.
Verdict: Pirate Anne Bonny, 3pt win at 13/8, Bet365. Take 5/4 or bigger. Chattering Classes is next best at 11/2.
Curragh 13:55 | Wo Wo Never | 1pt e/w at 17/2, Bet365, 3 places
NEXT BEST: Hmas Perth
Hmas Perth sets a proper standard after a Galway third and a Doncaster second, but 4/7 is not a betting price. He made the running over a mile last time and was caught inside the final furlong, so the drop to seven may suit, yet the market has allowed almost no margin for an awkward start or testing ground.
Wo Wo Never offers the value. He stayed on for third on soft ground at Gowran before finishing sixth, beaten only four lengths, in Listed company at Naas. Dropping back into a maiden is a meaningful class concession and stall four gives Declan McDonogh options. Cracks And Sparks and Heralds March can improve, but neither has Wo Wo Never's combination of soft-ground evidence and stronger-race experience.
Verdict: Wo Wo Never, 1pt e/w at 17/2, Bet365, 3 places. Take 8/1 or bigger. Hmas Perth is next best at 4/7.
Curragh 14:30 | Loughrea | 3pt win at 13/8, Bet365
NEXT BEST: Big Gossey
Loughrea has progressed rapidly, winning a maiden, a small-field Leopardstown handicap and then the 17-runner Irish Cambridgeshire here. He travelled like the best horse in that mile contest before going clear, and the drop to seven furlongs should be manageable on ground that will place emphasis on stamina. A 12lb rise in his official rating tells the story of that improvement.
Big Gossey remains a serious danger at 5/1. The veteran has ten Curragh wins and returned to form when second in the Renaissance Stakes on heavy ground only seven days ago. King Cuan is the highest-rated runner and is respected after a break, although Loughrea has the sharper current trajectory and can obtain cover before making his move.
Verdict: Loughrea, 3pt win at 13/8, Bet365. Take 6/4 or bigger. Big Gossey is next best at 5/1.
Curragh 15:05 | Truth Be Told | 2pt win at 5/1, Bet365
NEXT BEST: Johnny Soda
Johnny Soda's late-running third in a 22-runner course handicap makes him the obvious market reference, but Truth Be Told may be better served by this longer trip. He came from last to win over ten furlongs at Leopardstown, went close over a mile and five at Ballinrobe, then finished strongly from the rear in a deep 21-runner Leopardstown handicap.
The concern is tactical: Truth Be Told cannot afford to concede too much ground if the pace steadies. Even so, the return to nine furlongs and soft conditions should make this more of a stamina examination than a speed test. Majestic King is thriving but has a 10lb higher mark, while Iamimmaculate continues to find one too good.
Verdict: Truth Be Told, 2pt win at 5/1, Bet365. Take 9/2 or bigger. Johnny Soda is next best at 4/1.
Curragh 15:40 | Spinning Around | 1pt e/w at 8/1, Unibet, 4 places
NEXT BEST: Carla Ridge
Carla Ridge won this race decisively on soft to heavy ground last year and is entitled to respect, but she returns from 147 days off after a difficult spring. Royal Bay Cen and Pivotal Attack bring higher ratings, while Dancing Saxon has been admirably reliable, so the favourite is being asked to overcome a field with real depth.
Spinning Around is the value at 8/1. She finished strongly for second and third over seven furlongs at Cork on her last two starts, having met traffic on the first occasion. A stiff straight six on soft ground should draw on that stamina, and a large field ought to provide the pace she needs. The rise in grade is real, but her current form and finishing style make the four-place terms worthwhile.
Verdict: Spinning Around, 1pt e/w at 8/1, Unibet, 4 places. Take 7/1 or bigger. Carla Ridge is next best at 10/3.
Curragh 16:15 | Apothic Red | 1pt e/w at 8/1, Bet365, 6 places
NEXT BEST: Cool Azul
A 24-runner sprint demands luck, but it also rewards horses that can travel behind pressure and finish. Apothic Red improved from a close Sligo second to win a 19-runner course-and-distance handicap on yielding ground. He went forward sooner than ideal that day and still kept finding, so a 7lb rise need not stop a lightly raced three-year-old.
Cool Azul has made the frame in five of his last six and is the solid alternative, although stall 17 and a 47-day break temper enthusiasm at 13/2. Jon Riggens has fallen to an attractive mark, while Apache Outlaw's repeated placed efforts make him hard to dismiss. Apothic Red's proven large-field course form is the stronger value foundation.
Verdict: Apothic Red, 1pt e/w at 8/1, Bet365, 6 places. Take 7/1 or bigger. Cool Azul is next best at 13/2.
Curragh 16:50 | Rest Your Mind | 2pt win at 3/1, Bet365
NEXT BEST: Maeve Brennan
Rest Your Mind improved when winning a Galway maiden and then finished fourth on her handicap debut over nine furlongs at Punchestown. Her pedigree points strongly towards this longer trip, and she was still keeping on at the finish last time. The outer draw is inconvenient rather than decisive in a race likely to develop gradually.
Maeve Brennan is a danger at 7/2. She has twice finished second this season, including over this trip, and Jamie Codd's fellow leading amateur Jody Townend is a positive booking. Sinbad My Dad arrives after a win, while last year's winner Alfalfa can improve from his recent return, but Rest Your Mind has the clearest scope for progress.
Verdict: Rest Your Mind, 2pt win at 3/1, Bet365. Take 11/4 or bigger. Maeve Brennan is next best at 7/2.
Curragh 17:25 | Lady Mary Heath | 1pt e/w at 8/1, Bet365, 5 places
NEXT BEST: Highbury See See
Highbury See See has finished second on his last two starts and won this race from the same mark last year, so he is a thoroughly credible favourite. The question is price after a sequence without a win, while Cherry Hill Girl and Spacebound return from breaks with fitness to prove.
Lady Mary Heath is more interesting at 8/1. She finished strongly to take fourth over a mile on heavy ground in March, then came from a difficult position to be beaten only half a length when third over seven furlongs here on soft. Her mark has eased to 63 and she has run well fresh. Stall 16 should let Jack Cleary keep her out of the worst traffic before committing late.
Verdict: Lady Mary Heath, 1pt e/w at 8/1, Bet365, 5 places. Take 7/1 or bigger. Highbury See See is next best at 11/4.
Best bets of the day
Loughrea is the NAP because his three consecutive wins culminated in a decisive Irish Cambridgeshire success, and the drop to seven furlongs still leaves him with a demanding-ground stamina advantage. Truth Be Told is the next best of the day at 5/1, with the return to nine furlongs giving his late finish a better chance to count.
Spinning Around is the best value angle in the Brigid's Pastures Stakes, while Apothic Red's recent large-field course-and-distance win makes him especially interesting in the 16:15. Wo Wo Never and Lady Mary Heath complete a portfolio built around class drops, current marks and proven late strength.
