Who is responsible for your information
BetOwl is an independent editorial website and is the controller of personal information collected directly through this website. You can contact BetOwl at admin@betowl.co.uk or through the contact form. For a privacy request, select “Privacy or data request” so the message can be identified correctly.
You do not need a public account to read BetOwl. We collect information when you choose to join the newsletter or contact us, plus limited technical information needed to deliver and protect the site.

Please do not send passwords, payment details, betting account documents, health information or other sensitive personal information through the contact form.

We do not use website submissions to make solely automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects.
How long we keep information
- Newsletter records: until you unsubscribe or consent is otherwise withdrawn, followed by a limited suppression record where needed to respect that choice.
- Contact messages: normally for up to 24 months after the enquiry is closed, unless a longer period is needed for a legal claim, safeguarding matter or statutory duty.
- Privacy requests: for as long as reasonably required to demonstrate that the request was handled properly.
- Technical logs: for the limited period configured by the hosting and security providers, subject to operational and security needs.
- Cookie choices: on your device until you clear browser storage or the consent version changes.
Your data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to be informed, access your information, correct it, have it erased, restrict its use, object to processing and receive certain information in a portable format. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing.
Use the contact form to exercise a right. We may need enough information to confirm your identity. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. We would appreciate the opportunity to address the concern first, but you do not have to contact us before approaching the ICO.
Security, children and changes
We use proportionate organisational and technical measures intended to protect personal information, but no internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. BetOwl is an 18+ website and is not directed at children. If we learn that a child has submitted personal information, we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
We may update this policy when the site, providers or law changes. The review date at the top shows when the published wording was last checked.
