Listowel opens its seven-day Harvest Festival with a varied card that moves from juvenile hurdlers to a competitive handicap chase and a closing bumper. The feature is the EUR45,000 Kinisla Handicap Steeplechase, supported by two Irish EBF mares' races. The staking plan uses the stronger short-priced form anchors selectively and reserves each-way bets for three races in which the live terms materially improve the proposition. Our horse-racing tips approach treats the available price as part of the selection rather than an afterthought.

The going was good, good to yielding in places. Seven races and 84 active runners were checked against refreshed Racing API cards and the signed-in Oddschecker Listowel markets at 08:04-08:06 BST. No non-runners appeared on those grids. Prices, going and declarations can still change before racing. The wider Horse Racing hub carries race analysis, rules and guides beyond today's Listowel card.

Listowel 14:18 | Minella Buoy | 3pt win at 11/8, Bet365 and Unibet

NEXT BEST: Sonny Corleone

This opener rewards reliable public evidence. Minella Buoy has finished second on all three hurdle starts and brings the soundest jumping and form standard. He still has to prove that he can finish the job, but another professional round should make him difficult to dislodge. 11/8 with Bet365 and Unibet is acceptable for a three-point win bet and makes him the NAP. Sonny Corleone is the next best at 4/1. Gordon Elliott's newcomer may have more raw potential, although backing him requires accepting every racecourse unknown at once.

VERDICT: Minella Buoy, 3pt win at 11/8, Bet365 and Unibet. Back only at 5/4 or bigger; Sonny Corleone is the next best at 4/1.

Listowel 14:48 | Le Nez Creux | 2pt win at 11/4, Bet365, William Hill and Betfred

NEXT BEST: Tumbling In

Tumbling In is respected at 6/4 after winning at Galway, yet the price assumes that progress will carry her past more accomplished mares. Le Nez Creux has French Grade 1 form in her record and confirmed that she retains ability when second at Ayr in April. Her latest fifth was below that standard, and a quiet trainer spell adds risk, but 11/4 with Bet365, William Hill and Betfred offers enough compensation. She is the day's next best, while Tumbling In remains the strongest alternative on recent wellbeing.

VERDICT: Le Nez Creux, 2pt win at 11/4, Bet365, William Hill and Betfred. Back only at 5/2 or bigger; Tumbling In is the next best at 6/4.

Listowel 15:18 | Chosen Shant | 0.75pt e/w at 14/1, General, 5 places

NEXT BEST: Pampar Lady

The market concentrates on runners with stronger hurdle ratings, but Chosen Shant offers a different angle at 14/1, General, five places. She won a chase 23 days ago and returns to hurdles from a mark that leaves room for that improved confidence to matter. This is deeper and her official rating demands progress, so the bet is deliberately modest at 0.75 points each way. Pampar Lady is the next best at 16/1. She has made the frame on her last two runs and won this race last year, making her a credible alternative rather than a token outsider.

VERDICT: Chosen Shant, 0.75pt e/w at 14/1, General, 5 places. Back only at 12/1 or bigger; Pampar Lady is the next best at 16/1.

Listowel 15:48 | Gillane | 1pt e/w at 7/1, Bet365, 3 places

NEXT BEST: Run Ted Run

Run Ted Run is the likeliest winner at 10/11, but the odds-on price leaves no room for mistakes on his first hurdle start. Gillane is the value alternative at 7/1 with Bet365, three places. His sequence of 52321 shows steady progress, he has already handled a hurdle and the good surface should let him use his cruising speed. His long absence and the favourite's potential are real dangers, which makes an each-way approach more appropriate than a win-only bet. Run Ted Run is the next best on raw ability.

VERDICT: Gillane, 1pt e/w at 7/1, Bet365, 3 places. Back only at 6/1 or bigger; Run Ted Run is the next best at 10/11.

Listowel 16:18 | Sky Lord | 2pt win at 4/1, Bet365

NEXT BEST: Ocastle Des Mottes

Ocastle Des Mottes deserves favouritism at 6/5 after winning over fences, but Sky Lord is the better price at 4/1 with Bet365. He improved to win on his second chase start and arrives with recent fitness, a manageable official rating and the prospect of further progress. He must improve again against a higher-rated rival, yet the gap in price is wider than the gap in evidence. Sky Lord is a two-point win selection, with Ocastle Des Mottes the clear next best.

VERDICT: Sky Lord, 2pt win at 4/1, Bet365. Back only at 7/2 or bigger; Ocastle Des Mottes is the next best at 6/5.

Listowel 16:48 | Coming Up Easy | 1pt e/w at 7/1, Sky Bet and Paddy Power, 4 places

NEXT BEST: Jalila Moriviere

The feature handicap is competitive enough to demand both price and place protection. Coming Up Easy is top rated on 140 and returned with a strong second at Galway, evidence that he is ready to compete from this mark. He has to carry top weight and convert promise into a win, but 7/1 with Sky Bet and Paddy Power, four places properly reflects those risks. Jalila Moriviere is the next best at 7/2 after winning last time, although her shorter price and sizeable weight leave less tolerance for error.

VERDICT: Coming Up Easy, 1pt e/w at 7/1, Sky Bet and Paddy Power, 4 places. Back only at 6/1 or bigger; Jalila Moriviere is the next best at 7/2.

Listowel 17:18 | Sir Vinny | 3pt win at 6/5, Bet365

NEXT BEST: Green Hint

Sir Vinny has made the frame on all three starts and missed by only a short head at Galway last time. That recent evidence, plus experience on today's ground, gives him a narrower range of outcomes than his rivals. 6/5 with Bet365 supports a three-point win bet. Green Hint is the next best at Evens on form that includes a win and two seconds, but a 229-day absence means his readiness has to be assumed. Sir Vinny's fitness and consistency make the difference.

VERDICT: Sir Vinny, 3pt win at 6/5, Bet365. Back only at Evens or bigger; Green Hint is the next best at Evens.

Best bets of the day

Minella Buoy is the NAP because three successive seconds over hurdles give him the strongest combination of current form and relevant experience in the opener. Le Nez Creux is the next best of the day at 11/4, with her established class making her a better value proposition than the shorter-priced favourite. The feature-race value is Coming Up Easy with four places, while Chosen Shant and Gillane complete the each-way portfolio.
